Brown v. Board of Education
The court case of Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas focused on the idea of white and colored children being segregated in public schools. The Brown family was upset that their child, Linda Brown, could not attend the school that was closer to her house. They got the support of many families and eventually brought the issue to court. The Supreme Court ruled that segregated schools provided unequal schooling; therefore, it was unconstitutional. Chief Justice Warren was able to bring his court to a unanimous decision.
